Dear CTD user,
The December update of the Comparative Toxicogenomics Database (CTD)
is complete - you can browse our new data at http://ctd.mdibl.org.

Since last month, we added 4,123 curated interactions involving 333
chemicals and 1,026 genes/proteins as well as 47 direct gene-disease
relationships and 57 direct chemical-disease relationships (complete
data statistics: http://ctd.mdibl.org/about/dataStatus.go).

Curated data were significantly increased for:
Chemicals:
Quercetin - http://ctd.mdibl.org/detail.go?type=chem&acc=D011794
Rotenone - http://ctd.mdibl.org/detail.go?type=chem&acc=D012402
Acetaldehyde - http://ctd.mdibl.org/detail.go?type=chem&acc=D000079

Genes/Proteins:
NOS2 - http://ctd.mdibl.org/detail.go?type=gene&acc=4843&db=GENE
TNF - http://ctd.mdibl.org/detail.go?type=gene&acc=7124&db=GENE
IL1B - http://ctd.mdibl.org/detail.go?type=gene&acc=3553&db=GENE

Diseases:
Lupus Erythematosus, Systemic - http://ctd.mdibl.org/detail.go?type=disease&acc=D008180&db=MESH
Fibrosis - http://ctd.mdibl.org/detail.go?type=disease&acc=D005355&db=MESH
Alcoholism - http://ctd.mdibl.org/detail.go?type=disease&acc=D000437&db=MESH

We made several additions to CTD since our last report including the
integration of pathway data from the Reactome Database, Tag Clouds
that provide a visual summary of highly curated data in CTD and
mechanisms for users to request curation on specific data pages.

Finally, we're pleased to announce a new CTD publication describing a
metric we developed to generate lists of comparable genes
(“GeneComps”) or chemicals (“ChemComps”) based on shared toxicogenomic
profiles: Allan Peter Davis, Cynthia G. Murphy, Cynthia A. Saraceni-
Richards, Michael C. Rosenstein, Thomas C. Wiegers, Thomas H. Hampton
and Carolyn J. Mattingly. Bioinformation 4 (4):173-174 (2009).

Please send us your feedback and let us know how you are using CTD in
your research or educational programs so we can ensure that it remains
a valuable community resource. Look for us at the Society of
Toxicology meeting in March.
Thanks for using CTD.

The CTD Team.
